The poisonwood bible is a fictional novel that takes place in the congo. It is about the family of a baptist preacher who all go to the congo for missionary work, and how that changes and destroys most of their lives.
I love reading stories from and about Africa. I prefer non-fiction but I will read a novel any day. I have always been drawn to anything about Africa, and have always had a breaking heart for it. I was privileged to have the honor of going to Uganda Africa when I was 18. It was amazing, and I have always wanted to go back, and hopefully one day will. I love the culture, the people, the bush, the smells. That is why I love reading about it, it is a completely different world, and one I want to know. So…does anyone know of any to recommend?
